F&V Operations and Resource Management (FVOP) has promoted a long time treatment plant operator, Brian Lee, to corporate safety manager.

Since 2002, Lee has been assisting Metamora and Armada as an operations specialist operating the plants and performing maintenance work. He joined FVOP in 2011 in the transition from the previous company that operated the plants. FVOP is a subsidiary of Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) and provides operations and management services for municipal, industrial and environmental systems.

“Brian’s shown great knowledge and interest since joining our team,” said Larry Fleis, PE and president of F&V. “We look forward to Brian expanding his role in the company and hope that he’ll help us grow and improve our quality of service and maintain the high level of safety within our organization.”

“I’m excited,” said Lee, who is also a volunteer fireman for Arcadia Township. “I’ve been big on safety for a while.”

As safety manager and operations specialist for various projects, Lee will be responsible for the management and oversight of FVOP’s safety training program. He will be working out of F&V’s Grand Blanc office.

“I enjoy doing this kind of work,” said Lee, who also helps on the maintenance at the Armada wastewater treatment plant. “I like the public service aspect of it and keeping the water running and the sewer flowing.”

The F&V Companies include full-service engineering and architectural services with specialists in the municipal, private and industrial sectors. It has nine offices in Michigan and Indiana. The firm has been locally and nationally recognized as one of the “101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For.”
